SIA announces resignation of CEO

Seafood Industry Australia (SIA) has announced the resignation of CEO Jane Lovell, effective immediately.

SIA Chair Veronica Papacosta thanked Ms Lovell for her contribution to the Australian seafood industry and the organisation.

“On behalf of the SIA Board, staff, and our body of members, we want to thank Jane for her passionate advocacy,” Ms Papacosta said.

“As SIA’s inaugural CEO Jane played a significant role in developing the organisation as it stands today.

“Jane was instrumental in securing $10 million to waive AFMA fees for Commonwealth fishers, and the $110 million International Freight Assistance Mechanism, to get Australian seafood back into key international markets amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“Her departure marks a period of transformation and growth for SIA, and now it is time for us to look towards the future.

“Jane served the industry tirelessly during her tenure, we thank her for her leadership and passion. We wish her every success in her future endeavours.”

SIA Chairperson Veronica Papacosta will act as CEO until an Interim CEO is appointed.
