#OurStories January 2020 Update

As most of us have either been on holiday, dealing with bushfires or battling one of the busiest periods of the year and (I imagine) are just getting our heads back into gear I will be brief. 2019 capped off a great year for me. At the start of the year I had no idea I would up to my neck, back in seafood, rubbing shoulders with all parts of industry across the country working on important issues pivotal to our future. But here I am, loving the challenge, the people and the partnerships we are developing along the way.

In my short time on this project I feel we have come a long way. We now have a pretty solid set of Key Performance Indicators which align well with each area of Our Pledge. We have collected as much info we can (to this point) to get a clearer picture of industry performance against the KPIs, and we have an ever increasing stash of great stories and anecdotes from you that, when viewed collectively, clearly show how we are actively working to maintain and evolve our thriving industry.

Our plan is to take the results we have, review them a final time in February, and then work further on producing a solid body of evidence (composed of facts coupled with human stories) which helps the public and our stakeholders better understand the amount of effort we put into looking after people, our environment and feeding people. Here’s to a great 2020!
