National Prawn Day
18/03/2023
March 18th 2023 marks Australia’s third #NationalPrawnDay
After two successful years, National Prawn Day has firmly placed its mark on the food calendar.
Proudly initiated by Tropic Co. National Prawn Day is about celebrating prawns for their unique taste, vibrant colour, range of health benefits and all-round legendary status.
Tropic Co. are hosting events across the country to help encourage every Aussie to celebrate their love for prawns, special occasion or not, in a ‘The Great Australian Prawn Peel Off Attempt’ at participating fishmongers. With free Tropic Co Aussie Tiger Prawns to sample and an Tropic Co cooler bag with purchase up for grabs. Get your mates over and host a Tiger Prawn feast.
Everyone will have the chance to show off their prawn peelings skills and even more excitingly, potentially become a record-breaker with the Guinness World Records. Last year’s winner declared the closed attempt, undressing 18 prawns in one minute.
If you think you got what it takes, challenge yourself to beat this record time of peeling 21 prawns under one minute. Score not only the 2023 Great Australian Prawn Peel off title but a chance at the Guinness World Record.
So what are you waiting for? Get down to one of your local events, crank the BBQ up, gather your mates and grab life by the prawns this National Prawn Day!
